Making the Right Decision

This resource is relevant for all social care workers across all settings and services and has been development to support you to embed the Standards of Conduct and Practice for Social Care Workers into your day to day work.

Every day as a social care worker you have to make decisions relating to your role. Some of these are straightforward and easy to make, while others are more difficult and may involve a range of options.

This learning resource has been developed in partnership with the Social Care Council Fitness to Practice team and social care employers to provide you with some challenging scenarios. This is to enable you to see how your decisions might affect the outcomes for the people you support and help you to build reflective practice into your day to day work and learning.

The videos were produced in partnership with Slackpress Productions Ltd.

The resource includes 6 scenarios which are based on real cases that have come to the Northern Ireland Social Care Council Fitness to Practice Team. These have been anonymised and actors have been used to portray the characters within the films produced for the resource.
